BUILT AROUND THE WORK

What this means
for your business.

01

Make eligibility explicit

Identify the company accounts and buyers entitled to a price list. Agree currency, applicable products and the period for which the agreement is valid.

02

Check quantity breaks

A larger order may change the unit price. Test boundary quantities and the interaction with other offers before presenting the result to a buyer.

03

Preserve the order agreement

The price displayed during browsing and the price accepted on an order have different moments in time. Agree how updates affect open quotes, carts and existing orders.

THE DETAIL IN BUSINESS CONTEXT

Wholesale begins before checkout.

A trade relationship determines who buys, which agreement applies and what needs review. Price, approval and payment terms are connected commercial decisions with different owners.

Company & buyer

Separate the organisation from the individual who acts for it. Review access when a person changes role or leaves.

Quote & accepted order

Preserve the agreement that was accepted and define what happens when a price list changes while a quote is still open.

INSPECT THE RECORDS AND DECISIONS

An agreed price has an audience and a moment.

A trade price is meaningful only when the eligible buyer, applicable products, currency and quantity rule are clear. Preserve the commercial arrangement accepted by the order.

Operating concepts to inspect in your setup; this is not a wire-format schema. Exact API fields belong in the source-derived reference.

Eligible account
The company or commercial relationship entitled to the agreement.
Buyer access
The person allowed to buy for that account.
Product scope
The variants included in the commercial arrangement.
Quantity boundary
The point at which a price rule changes.
Currency & tax basis
The commercial context required to interpret the number.
Accepted agreement
The price and terms carried into a quote or order.

When a price list changes during a quote

Define whether the quote retains its original agreement or needs review. Do not assume that a current browsing price explains the accepted order.

Before approving credit

Treat payment terms and credit responsibility as separate from a unit-price agreement. A discount does not grant a payment facility.

INSPECT AN OPERATING SCENARIO

A business order begins with the relationship.

Explore a company purchase from buyer eligibility through agreed pricing and an accepted order. This example keeps credit terms separate from product price.

A CLEARER PICTURE

Good questions.
Useful answers.

Does a price list imply credit terms?

No. Pricing, payment terms and credit responsibility are distinct commercial decisions.

Can I use a retail discount instead?

A trade agreement may need account eligibility and quantity rules that go beyond a general promotion.
